Report: Aaron Weaver not granted medical hardship
According to the Associated Press, Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone said today that wide receiver Aaron Weaver has not received a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA.
Weaver transferred from Hofstra to Syracuse as a fifth-year senior. Hofstra dropped football after the 2009 season.
Weaver tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a practice last week. According to the AP, the NCAA did not grant the waiver because Hofstra couldn't provide documentation on an injury Weaver might have sustained that prevented him from playing during his freshman season at Hofstra. Weaver did play three seasons at Hofstra.
