Sophomore Nurideen Lindsey to transfer from St. John's

Sophomore guard Nurideen Lindsey, one of seven players in the St. John's rotation this season, plans to transfer at the end of the semester.
Red Storm coach Steve Lavin made the announcement Thursday, saying it was a mutually agreed-upon decision.
Lindsey, a native of Philadelphia, said his mother's health has been "up and down due to some past experiences."
Lindsey was third on St. John's (4-5) in scoring with an 11.8 average and led the Red Storm in assists at 2.9 per game. He recorded a near triple-double against UMBC on Nov. 13 with 15 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
St. John's started the season with one returning player and six newcomers, including Lindsey. Lavin, in his second season at St. John's, has missed four games as he continues to recover from prostate cancer surgery. He has not said when he will return.
