St. John's gives up late 12-0 run to lose
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Stacy Wilson had 23 points and Murray State used a late 12-0 run to defeat St. John's, 72-67, last night and reach the Charleston Classic championship.
St. John's (2-1) opened a 13-point lead in the first half and was still ahead 59-52 on Chris Obekpa's basket with 7:27 left. Then came Murray State's go-ahead run.
"There were stretches where I thought we were in rhythm. I liked where we were," Red Storm coach Steve Lavin said. "And there were stretches where we didn't play well."
