Stony Brook quarterback Michael Coulter suffered through a second half in which he threw three more interceptions to give him a total of four for the game. Two led to South Florida touchdowns, including a 33-yard return by Mark Joyce for a 52-14 lead, and the other stopped a Stony Brook drive at the South Florida 7-yard line. That was a shame because it would have been nice to see the Seawolves dig down after taking a pounding and put one more in the end zone.

Late in the fourth quarter, fourth-string Bulls tailback Marcus Shaw broke a 63-yard scoring run to push South Florida's lead to 59-14 with 4:35 left to play. Not only was it a tough baptism, but the Seawolves lost starting corner Donald Porter with a first-half knee injury, and the other starting corner, Al-Majid Hutchins, was knocked woozy and left the game in the third quarter.

The silver lining? Hofstra transfer running backs Brock Jackolski and Miguel Maysonet both looked good and will give the Wolves a lot olf versatility with starter Edwin Gowins.

Check back later for post-game quotes from coach Chuck Priore and a couple players.
