Despite 21 second-half points by Bryan Dougher, the Stony Brook men's basketball team lost to Boston College, 66-51, Sunday night at BC's Conte Forum.

The Seawolves (3-5) went scoreless for the final 11:50 of the first half as Boston College put together a 22-0 run to turn an 11-6 deficit into a 28-11 halftime lead. Dougher's three-pointer got the Seawolves within 47-39 before BC (3-7) pulled away.

"Our first half was our downfall tonight,'' Stony Brook coach Steve Pikiell said. "We couldn't make shots in the first half, and we had some open looks. Clearly, with 40 points in the second half, we are capable of scoring, but we couldn't get it done in the first half and we didn't play enough defense to stop BC.''

After missing all five of his shots from the field in the first half and going scoreless, Dougher was 8-for-15 in the second half, including 5-for-7 from three-point range. Anthony Jackson scored 11 of his 14 points after halftime, going 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-3 from behind the arc in the second half.

Dougher matched his career high for points in a half. He also had 21 against Boston University on Jan. 2, 2010.

Patrick Heckmann had 18 points, Jordan Daniels 12 and Ryan Anderson 10 for BC.
