Stony Brook's Miguel Maysonet named first-team FCS All-American

Maysonet rushed for 1,964 yards and scored 23 total touchdowns on his way to being named player of the year in the Big South Conference. Considered an NFL prospect, Maysonet ended his career, which included his freshman year at Hofstra, with 5,110 yards and 51 touchdowns. He ran behind an offensive line anchored by the 6-8, 345-pound Bamiro. Norrell caught 66 passes for 1,388 yards and 15 touchdowns. He had 2,061 yards and 20 TDs in his two years with the program.
Next up for Maysonet is a trip Monday to Philadelphia for the announcement of the Walter Payton Award, presented to the most outstanding offensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision. Maysonet is a finalist with Old Dominion quarterback Taylor Heinicke and Wofford fullback Eric Breitenstein.
