Kylie and Taryn Ohlmiller lead No. 2 Stony Brook past No. 23 Stanford

The Ohlmiller sisters racked up 23 points on Stony Brook’s two-game California road trip, and the Seawolves will enter their first home game with a perfect record.
Kylie Ohlmiller had six goals and two assists and Taryn Ohlmiller added four goals and one assist to lead the No. 2 Seawolves to a 15-9 win over No. 23 Stanford in a non-conference women’s lacrosse game Monday.
Stony Brook opened the season with a 14-10 win at No. 5 USC on Friday, with Courtney Murphy contributing four goals and four assists, Taryn Ohlmiller picking up four goals and three assists and Kylie Ohlmiller adding a goal and two assists.
After Stanford (0-2) opened the scoring Monday, the Seawolves scored 10 of the next 11 goals to go ahead 10-2 with 4:58 left in the first half.
Stanford responded by scoring the final goal of the half and the first goal of the second half in a 6-3 run that cut Stony Brook’s lead to 13-8 with less than five minutes left.
The Seawolves put the game away with a pair of goals from the Ohlmiller sisters, as Kylie scored with 3:40 left off an assist from Ally Kennedy and Taryn made it 15-8 a minute later off a free position.
Anna Tesoriero made eight saves for Stony Brook, which will play Denver on Sunday in its home opener.
