Mount Sinai's Emma Tyrrell had five goals and an assist, including two goals during a second-half flurry, to pace host Syracuse in a 15-10 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday in the second round of the NCAA Division I women's lacrosse tournament.
The midfielder, a grad student, had one of her goals during a four-goal outburst that gave the Orange an 11-5 lead just before halftime.
For the Seawolves (18-3), Kailyn Hart (North Babylon) had three goals and two assists and Ellie Masera (Eastport-South Manor) and Jaden Hampel (West Islip) each scored two goals.
SBU goaltender Emily Manning (Sayville) made eight saves.
Syracuse (15-5), the No. 3 seed, moves on to face sixth-seeded Yale in the quarterfinals.
