USMMA defeats Muhlenberg in men's soccer
Dan Twito scored off a feed from Lane Gould in the 19th minute as USMMA topped No. 21 Muhlenberg College, 1-0, in NCAA Division III third-round men's soccer action Saturday.
USMMA (13-2-5) advances to the Division III quarterfinal for the first time and will face Messiah College Sunday at 1 p.m. at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.
Gould's shot rebounded off the goalie and ended up at the feet of Twito, who scored on an open net. Mariners goalkeeper Gary Poulin made two saves.
Dowling 1, Franklin Pierce 0:Jorge Ruiz scored with 17 minutes left in the game to lift 10th-ranked Dowling over No. 1 Franklin Pierce in an NCAA Division II Regional Final.
Dowling (12-1-6) advances to the Division II Final Four for the second time in the last three seasons. Franklin Pierce drops to 17-2-2. Both of Franklin Pierce's losses came to Dowling.

Adelphi 83, Franklin Pierce 73:Richard Byrd had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Rob Johnson added 22 points for Adelphi (3-0) at the Molloy Classic. WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALLDowling 3, Bridgeport 0: Patrycja Klekotka had nine kills and Monika Kasperek had eight kills to lead Dowling (30-1) to the 25-23, 25-19, 25-17 win over Bridgeport in the NCAA Division II East Regional Final.
Dowling advances to the Elite Eight in Louisville for the second straight season.
