1. ST. DOMINIC BASEBALL

We have a new No. 1. The CHSAA is very deep on the diamond and the Bayhawks are the regular-season kingpins. Pitching and defense produced a three-game sweep of highly-regarded St. John the Baptist led by sophomore Kyle Young, who tossed a no-hitter in a 2-0 win.

2. MANHASSET GIRLS LACROSSE

The Indians have surged in the last three weeks and are now ranked No. 3 in the country. They had wins over Garden City, Wantagh and St. Anthony's. The Indians secured the Conference I title and top seed for the Class B playoffs.

8. EAST MEADOW SOFTBALL

Kerri Shapiro tossed a one hitter and struck out 14 and Madison West drove in two to lead top-seeded East Meadow to a 7-0 win over Long Beach in the Class AA quarterfinals. The defending LI champions face Massapequa in Tuesday's semifinal.

9. MOUNT SINAI GIRLS LACROSSE

The defending state Class C champs are one of two remaining undefeated L.I. girls lacrosse teams and are ranked 19th in the country. The Mustangs improved to 16-0 with a dominating 11-5 win over CBA-Syracuse, the defending state Class B champion. Kasey Mitchell had two goals, three assists and eight draw controls.

10. ST. ANTHONY'S SOFTBALL

Aileen Reilly tossed three shutouts on the week as the Friars inched closer to wrapping up a CHSAA title. Dom Zummo hit a walk-off single in the eighth in a 1-0 win over Kellenberg.
