Former Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw moved one step closer toward becoming the Colts' lead back when he was activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP) on Monday.

It's good news for a Colts' team that has had its struggles in the running game. It also means that some of the offensive load can be taken off second-year quarterback Andrew Luck, who did a splendid job in getting the Colts to the playoffs in his rookie season.

The Colts will proceed cautiously with Bradshaw, who is coming off foot surgery during the off-season. But Bradshaw maintains he'll be ready for the regular season opener.

The last time he played in Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Colts, play their home games, was in the Giants' Super Bowl XLVI win over the Patriots.
