Jets linebacker Bart Scott took a shot at Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers about the interception he threw in the third quarter.

Under a heavy rush, Rivers attempted a long pass to Vincent Jackson down the right side. Jackson was blanketed by cornerback Darrelle Revis, and the ball caromed off Jackson but never hit the ground. Revis caught the deflection while flat on his back.

Scott accused Rivers of getting rid of the ball too soon, and suggested that he was unwilling to wait a split second longer.

"He didn't want to get hit," Scott said. "He just heaved that ball up. He wasn’t going to take the hit. He was going to throw it."

And now, the zinger: "Sometimes you’ve got to stare down the barrel of a gun, and he wasn't willing to do that."
