Bears worried about Forte's knees

Bears running back Matt Forte is skipping the team's Organized Team Activity sessions because of a contract dispute, and it doesn't appear there will be a resolution to his money issues any time soon. 

It doesn't help that the team is now concerned about the condition of the 26-year-old running back's knees. Per David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, those concerns are standing in the way of a long-term deal for the team's top runner. 

The Bears have designated Forte as their franchise player, which means they retain his rights for the 2012 season at a cost of $7.7 million in salary. But Forte has yet to sign the deal, and will likely hold out of training camp in a bid to secure a long-term contract. Forte is hoping to earn a deal in the range of the five-year, $45 million contract agreed to earlier this month by Eagles tailback LeSean McCoy.
