Belichick: trade offers already
The Patriots have three of the first 33 picks in the draft, and head coach Bill Belichick is already getting plenty of calls about trade requests.
"We've definitely been contacted by teams below us offering to move back, and by teams behind us looking to move up," Belichick said in an appearance on Sirius/XM NFL Radio on Monday, per Sean Leahy of USA Today. "There definitely seems to be a lot of interest in our draft picks. And as you know we're not afraid to trade them."
The Patriots have the 17th (acquired from Oakland in the trade for Richard Seymour), 28th and 33rd (acquired from Carolina) picks.
It will be an interesting draft as far as trades, because only picks - and not players - can be dealt during the draft. Because of the NFL lockout, players are prohibited from being traded.
