Just minutes before the free agency signing period commenced, the Dolphins pulled off a trade that sent wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Bears in exchange for two third-round picks.
The move reunites Marshall and quarterback Jay Cutler, both of whom played in Denver before being traded away during the ill-fated Josh McDaniels era.
The Bears had been expected to be in the market for free agent wide receiver Vincent Jackson, but it's not clear whether the trade takes Jackson out of their plans. Jackson is also coveted by the Redskins
