Breaking News: Brett Favre undecided about future!
The Vikings have made it known that their preference is to have Brett Favre back for another season in 2010. And, of course, Favre has given no indication of his plans.
Not a surprise, since Favre has waffled for the last three years about what his plans are for the following season.
"Our focus now is basically doing what we normally do and going through our normal process and procedures," Vikings VP of personnel Rick Spielman said today at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. "Trying to get prepared for everything that's coming ahead and try to add players to our roster that can help us win."
Favre is scheduled to appear with Jay Leno on the Tonight Show next Thursday, although he's not expected to drop any bombshell revelations then. After all, he didn't sign with the Vikings until last Aug. 18. He proceeded to have one of the best years of his career in helping Minnesota to the NFC Championship Game, where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Saints.
Spielman insists the waiting isn't an issue.
"I don't think it's tough," he said. "I think everybody feels comfortable with [Tarvaris Jackson] and with Sage [Rosenfels]," Spielman said. "We have stated that we'd love to have Brett Favre back. You just go on, day to day, and you plan and try to build your roster. Brett will make his decision when he makes his decision."
