Chiefs will keep Tamba Hali
Chiefs outside linebacker Tamba Hali, who had a breakout season in 2010 with a career-high 14 1/2 sacks, will remain with the team for at least the 2011 season, if not longer.
While the Chiefs attempt to sign Hali to a long-term contract, they designated him as their franchise player, which means he'll be under contract for at least the next season.
"Tamba is a key contributor to our football team," Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli said. "We have a tremendous amount of respect for him both personally and professionally. We want Tampa to remain a member of the Chiefs, and we will continue to work together with the hope of reaching a long-term agreement."
