The Minnesota Vikings say Brett Favre is still a game-time decision for their postponed matchup with the New York Giants in Detroit on Monday night.
Favre told USA Today on Sunday that he doubted he would be able to play “but it does buy a little time” as he tries to keep his NFL record of 297 straight regular-season starts alive.
The 41-year-old quarterback barely practiced all week as he tried to recover from a sprained SC joint in his throwing shoulder.
Coach Leslie Frazier says Favre did not throw during a walkthrough Sunday, but that the extra day off has helped him.
Favre is listed as questionable. The game was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon but got pushed to Monday night in Detroit after the Metrodome’s roof collapsed during a massive snowstorm.
