Peyton Manning broke two NFL records Sunday and helped the Colts to a 23-20 victory over the visiting Titans for their seventh AFC South title in eight years. It's the ninth straight season Indianapolis has reached the postseason, tying Dallas' NFL mark set from 1975-83.

And, as it turned out, the Colts (10-6) didn't even need to win to make the playoffs - thanks to the Jaguars' loss in Houston. But the win did give Indianapolis the AFC's No. 3 seed and set up Saturday's first-round playoff game against the visiting Jets (10-6).

Manning was 27-for-41 for 264 yards with two TDs, breaking the single-season record for completions (450) that Drew Brees set earlier in the day. He also started his 208th consecutive game, breaking Gene Upshaw's record for most consecutive starts to open a career. And he threw his 398th and 399th career TD passes, leaving him one short of joining Brett Favre (508) and Dan Marino (420) as the only members of the 400 club.

The Titans (6-10) played possibly for the final time with Jeff Fisher as coach. Fisher, hired to replace Jack Pardee with six games to go in the 1994 season, has the longest tenure as head coach with one team among active head coaches in the league.

The Jets would have traveled to Kansas City for their first-round playoff game if the Chiefs had won Sunday, but instead the Raiders blew out host Kansas City, 31-10.

Oakland became the only team since the 1970 merger to go unbeaten in its division and still not make the playoffs. The short-handed Raiders (8-8) went 6-0 in the AFC West and the Chiefs (10-6) went 2-4 in winning the division. They will host the Ravens (12-4) on Sunday.

The Chiefs' loss came on the heels of news that offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is leaving to become Florida's offensive coordinator. Weis was not made available to the media.

In Houston, Arian Foster ran for 180 yards and won the NFL rushing title as the Texans beat the Jaguars, 34-17. Foster, an undrafted free agent, finished with 1,616 yards rushing for the Texans (6-10). Jacksonville (8-8) needed a victory and a Colts loss to make the playoffs.
