49ers punt returner Kyle Williams, who had two key turnovers late in the Giants’ 20-17 overtime win in the NFC Championship Game, has been receiving several disturbing messages on his Twitter account.

While several fans offered words of support for Williams, who replaced the injured Ted Ginn Jr., others suggested he should consider suicide. And one mentioned Williams’ wife and children.

One tweet suggested that Williams should wear a bracelet made of razor blades. Another recommended he jump off the Golden Gate Bridge.

Sick stuff in a world where social media now allows people to interact more directly with athletes.
