It is generally expected that federal Judge David S. Doty, who has overseen most of the important legal cases involving the NFL and NFL Players Association, will be the presiding judge in the Tom Brady antitrust case that was filed on Friday, just minutes after the NFLPA filed for decertification.

And it still may end up being Doty who hears the case. But for now, the case has been assigned to Judge Susan Nelson, according to Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal.

Kaplan surmises, however, that the players will file a motion to shift the case to Judge Doty, who has ruled favorably in many cases involving the NFL and NFLPA.
