Gary Kubiak has decided to remain offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens rather than seek a job elsewhere as a head coach.

Kubiak coached the Houston Texans for eight years before joining the Ravens this season. Under his direction, the Ravens set a franchise record for points in the regular season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

Kubiak has been asked to interview for several head coach openings, but won't follow up.

In a statement released by the Ravens on Sunday night, Kubiak said, "It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions ... but I have decided to stay with the Ravens."

Kubiak says he wants to remain part of "a special organization."
