Corey Washington scored the game-winning touchdown on a 4-yard pass from Ryan Nassib with 55 seconds remaining, but it was Adrien Robinson who let him.

The third-year tight end caught passes on back-to-back plays, converting a fourth-and-16 from the Giants' 22 with a 26-yard grab and then bringing the ball to the Colts' 19 with a 33-yarder.

"I've definitely been waiting for a chance to make plays like that," Robinson, who has not made a regular-season catch in his NFL career, said after the Giants' 27-26 victory Saturday night. "I think it was real important I got to show not only myself but my teammates and my coaches I can go in there and make plays, especially in the fourth quarter of a game-winning drive. I think that was very important for me personally."

Nassib, who delivered the passes to Robinson, said the tight end "saved" the team.

"In the middle of the field it was like the Red Sea," Robinson said of the fourth-down play. "Once I beat the linebacker, Ryan threw a great ball."

Robinson has been one of the players in a wide-open battle at tight end. Larry Donnell has gotten most of the starting reps, but Kellen Davis caught a touchdown pass to spark the comeback Saturday night and Robinson certainly left an impact on the game.

The Giants selected Robinson in the fourth round in 2012 and dubbed him "the JPP of tight ends" because of his raw athletic ability. That has gone mostly unseen through two injury-riddled seasons. Now there is a slight chance that he could find himself cut from the 53-man roster.

"I felt I definitely needed this, for sure, to prove that I should be on the field," he said. "I wouldn't say [there is] necessarily pressure to make the team but definitely pressure to make plays. I guess you could say make the team, it's my third year, I need to go out there and make plays to stick around as long as I can."

Making plays like the ones Saturday night will help that cause.
