A little more on Victor Cruz:

He said it is “surreal” that he is now playing with the Giants after growing up in Paterson.

“I wake up every day and I’m like ‘Wow, am I really wearing blue today?’” he said. “But it’s surreal. I grew up watching the Giants. It’s definitely a great feeling.”

He may have grown up watching the Giants, but he wasn’t always rooting for them. Cruz admitted that he was a Cowboys fan as a kid.

“But now, being a part of the organization, I love it and I’m happy to be here,” he said.

The biggest surprise with Cruz is not his reps at receiver but his lack of reps on special teams. He would seem to be a guy who could really earn a roster spot by returning punts or kickoffs and finding a niche there, especially with a pretty crowded (if not currently healthy) group of receivers ahead of him.

“I would like to think so,” he said when asked if he could contribute on special teams. “I’m not asking any questions. Wherever they want to play me, I just do what I’m told.”
