It's easy to get caught up in who called for the firing of Tom Coughlin and what the team's opinion of that person is (and no, Tiki Barber is not alone in expressing that sentiment). The bigger concern should be whether the former Giants running back is correct when he says that Coughlin has lost the team.

Has he?

Not according to the two voices that carry the most weight in the Giants' locker room: Eli Manning and Antrel Rolle.

"Coach, he's doing a great job," Manning said. "He gets us ready, we've just got to perform better. But it's not a lack of effort, guys are practicing hard, guys want to do well. Guys are into it, they're in tune, they're excited about the week and doing all the right things in the preparation. We've got to just keep doing the right things and take it into game day and do everything the way it needs to be done. Pay attention to all the little details and can't have those little mistakes that are costing us big plays.

"Guys were fighting, guys want to win and guys believe in this team," Manning added. "The message is getting across, it's just obviously the execution has to get better."

As for Rolle, he said repeatedly that he is not worried about what outsiders say about the team.

"We all understand him," Rolle said of Coughlin. "We all understand where he is coming from with his messages and so forth and so on. He's our guy, so we're going to go out there, we're going to play ball, try to get a win at all costs."

Rolle was asked if the Giants are aware that they may be playing for Coughlin's job.

"I want to win a game, period," he said. "I'm a winner. I want to win the game. We've got to go out there and win a game. Try to give ourselves a shot at the postseason. Win a game for our pride level. Win a game because that's what we're supposed to do, that's what we are here for. To win a game."
