Eli wants to be on more exclusive list
Eli Manning will become the 19th quarterback to start multiple Super Bowls, but he wants to be on the list with 10 names: The list of quarterbacks who have not only played in but won multiple Super Bowls.
"Having seen my brother win a Super Bowl and seen him lose a Super Bowl, it's no fun just going there and not winning, I can tell you that," Manning said in his weekly spot on 1050 ESPN Radio Monday. "I don't want to experience that."
Giants' matriarch fired up
Ann Mara, mother of team president John Mara and widow of Wellington Mara, confronted Fox's Terry Bradshaw after the game, complaining that he "never picks the Giants."
"I did hear a little bit about that this afternoon," Tom Coughlin said Monday. "I know that in many ways, many times, Mrs. Mara's attitude is reflective of the way that we would hope our team plays. She has great energy and tremendous interest and she is so interested in the team playing well and doing well."
Big Blue going white
Just like Super Bowl XLII four years ago, the Giants will play Super Bowl XLVI in their road white jerseys. The Patriots are designated as the home team and decided to go with blue tops. Given the Giants' affinity for playing as "Road Warriors," they might be doing the Giants a favor.
Giant steps
Coughlin said S Tyler Sash (concussion) should be fine . . . The Giants will practice Thursday through Saturday and fly to Indianapolis on Monday . . . Manning's daughter, Ava, awoke from her nap while he was on the radio and was heard in the background. He said she is excited about the Super Bowl: "What 10-month-old doesn't want to go to Indy?"
Giants, 49ers rate high
Sunday's game averaged 57.6 million viewers on Fox, making it the third-most-watched conference final ever, behind Cowboys-49ers in 1982 (68.7 million) and Vikings-Saints (57.9 million) two years ago.
An average of 41.8 percent of homes in the New York area watched, a record for Fox in the market for a non-Super Bowl game. With Neil Best
