Drafted No. 1 by San Diego, then immediately dealt to the Giants, who picked fourth and sent back Phillip Rivers. Manning has had his ups and downs, but has grown into a top 10 quarterback in the NFL. He led the Giants to the Super Bowl XLII upset of the then-undefeated New England Patriots in the 2007 season, then did it again in Super Bowl XLVI against a two-loss Patriots team in the 2011 season.

Three of New York’s high-profile quarterbacks – Eli Manning, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow -- are on a long list of NFL players suing trading card manufacturer Upper Deck for unpaid royalties and autograph fees.
The NFL Players Association filed the lawsuit on behalf of over 235 players seeking $1.5 million, most of which ($1.25 million) is for the autographs. The player who is owed the most, according to reports on the court documents, is Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo with $180,000. Tebow is owed $84,000 and Manning $22,924.80 (which is the only one I saw that was down to the cent, not down to the dollar). Sanchez is owed $9,350.
The lawsuit, filed in New York this week, reportedly states that “it became apparent during the course of the discussions that Upper Deck did not intend to honor its contractual obligations” and the players “gave up hope that Upper Deck would honor its contractual commitments.” The lawsuit also states that Upper Deck does not dispute the money it owes and has offered to establish a payment plan.
