Perry Fewell sounds like a man who really wants to coach the Broncos.

In a video released by the team that chronicles the Giants' defensive coordinator arriving in Denver for his interview Sunday, driving to the team's complex and eventually meeting with executives (including John Elway), Fewell laid it on thick about what he called "the Denver way of how they did things."

"Everything seemed like it was geared toward winning," Fewell said. "Championships start at the top, and it starts with Mr. [Pat] Bowlen. He knows how to compete, and that makes it more fun for you as a coach. He understands competition and knows what it takes. It just trickles down the food chain. I see that in the Denver Broncos' organization. I see that in how they play and how they've prepared, and I want to be a part of something like that."

It was Fewell's second interview for an NFL head-coaching opening this offseason. He met with executives from the Carolina Panthers in New York last week and is scheduled to interview with the Cleveland Browns this week.

Fewell was the first to interview in Denver, but the Broncos' list of candidates is long. According to reports, former Panthers coach John Fox will be interviewing in Denver Monday and the Broncos have requested permission to interview Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Former Giants coach Jim Fassel also has been named by Elway as a possible candidate. Eric Studesville, the interim head coach for the Broncos late this season, also interviewed Sunday.

Fewell was an interim head coach of the Bills in 2009 - a staff that included Studesville - and said having a chance to interview for openings this offseason is very exciting. "It's constantly on your mind," he said. "It's a situation that you are so excited about, you want to jump out of your skin. You've got all these plans that you want to put into action . . . It seems like your dreams are almost coming true, but then they haven't come true yet."
