I know when I think of Adam Koets, the first image that jumps into my head is him botching snaps at an alarming rate during last year’s training camp. It was Koets’ first time playing center, and he had to work through difficulties with the quarterback exchange.

Now this week he could very well be starting at center.

Have those issues been put behind him?

“I feel comfortable with it now,” he said. “I feel like I can just go out there and play football now.”

Koets did admit that it was a difficult transition. He started out as a tackle, moved to guard, and then was thrown in at center.

“It was a challenge, something I had never done before,” he said. “They just kind of put the ball in my hand and let me run with it. It was a great opportunity for me. They said ‘Here’s an opportunity to get on the field’ and here I am so I’m excited for that.”

And no more troubles with the exchange?

“It’s one of those things that I had to focus on and get through,” he said. “It’s one of the processes of learning that position. You have to protect the ball and that’s one of the things I had to learn.”
