QUOTABLE

"They could probably put a 4x100 team together and beat half of the college teams around." — Special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey on Kansas City’s overall speed.

FANTASY PLAY

Darrel Williams, Kansas City RB: The Giants are averaging 26.76 points allowed to opposing running backs, mostly because they have given up the fourth-most rushing yards (788) in the NFL. Williams, in place of the injured Clyde Edwards-Helaire, had 21 carries for 62 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6, and if the game script goes Kansas City’s way, he could see similar numbers on Monday night. —Nick Klopsis

INTANGIBLES

The Giants have scored 13 first-quarter points, the league’s second-lowest total behind the Jets (seven after Sunday’s game). But the Giants have allowed only six points in the first 15 minutes, which is also the second-lowest figure (Buffalo, three). The 19 combined first-quarter points are easily the NFL’s lowest total (Steelers and opponents have 33). Kanas City has allowed an NFL-high 49 first-quarter points.

NUMBER, PLEASE

14: Years since the Giants have beaten a team that lost the previous year’s Super Bowl. That was a 2007 victory over the Bears. Of course they have only played (and lost) three such games since, the last coming last year against the 49ers. In their history they are 6-20 in the regular season against Super Bowl losers.
