Giants release kicker Graham

Shayne Graham scored four points in a Giants career that lasted a little more than two days. Now that's what you call being productive.
It's also what you call being released, which is what the Giants did to their rented kicker Monday. On Saturday morning, they added Graham to the team to spell Lawrence Tynes, who had twisted his ankle in a Friday practice. Monday, he was gone, thanks to Tynes' improved ankle and the addition of offensive tackle Jamon Meredith, who was claimed off waivers from Detroit. It was barely worth stitching his name on a jersey. Graham never attempted a field goal Sunday against the Lions but was 4-for-4 on extra points. Tynes will handle the kicking duties Monday night against the Cowboys.
Beatty, Boothe progress
Will Beatty, who fractured a bone in his foot and required surgery earlier this year, can wear sneakers and no longer needs a protective boot. "It's still just walking," the second-year tackle said. "I'm feeling good and they have me rehabbing as much as I can every day."
Another tackle, Kevin Boothe, has been on PUP since the start of the season because of a pectoral muscle he tore in the spring. He said he is ready to begin practicing this week, the first time he will be allowed to under PUP rules, but the Giants might hold him out. They have a three-week window in which to have him start practices and could consider how Beatty progresses and how Meredith catches on before making a decision on Boothe.
Giant steps
Tom Coughlin said C Shaun O'Hara, who played Sunday for the first time since Week 2, emerged from the game "sore" but with no sign of a setback in his ankle/Achilles injury . . . LB Keith Bulluck (turf toe) should be cleared to play this week and FB Madison Hedgecock (hamstring) will try running Tuesday. "He's not out of the woods yet," Coughlin said . . . Cowboys starting LG Kyle Kosier will miss the Giants game with a right Achilles strain. QB Tony Romo has a bruised left hand that is not considered a serious injury.
