Giants story lines

Most of the injuries the Giants are dealing with have been on the offensive side of the ball. That, safety Antrel Rolle said Monday, puts the onus on the healthy defense. "We're going to do whatever we can to make sure we come out with the win," he said. Asked how the Giants' defense would view a team that lost its two starting wide receivers, Rolle was honest. "At that point, we understand you're a little bit vulnerable," he said. "So we would go after them. We expect teams to go after us, and I also expect us to make them wrong in their assumptions of thinking we don't have anyone that can step up. I think that's exactly what we're going to do."
Protection maxed out
Yes, the offensive line is having difficulties opening holes for Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs. But in the last three games, it has been stellar at protecting Eli Manning, not allowing any sacks since the bye. For certain, Manning has been under duress several times in those three games and he's managed to either scramble out of it or throw the ball away (once for an intentional grounding penalty). This is the Giants' longest streak of not allowing a sack since they went four straight games in November 1972.
Giants getting the votes
Three Giants are the top vote-getters at their position in Pro Bowl balloting so far, but two of them haven't been on the field for a few weeks. David Diehl and Shaun O'Hara have the most votes at tackle and center, respectively, which opens the door for Diehl to possibly be the starting tackle for the NFC in Hawaii and the starting guard to finish the season for the Giants. O'Hara, meanwhile, has played in only four games this season. The other player atop his position is Antrel Rolle at free safety. Fans can vote on Pro Bowl players for four more weeks at NFL.com.
