Harrison on Gronk: Beat him up!
NBC analyst Rodney Harrison was known as a big hitter in his day as an NFL safety, including on two Super Bowl-winning teams for the Patriots.
So perhaps it's no surprise how he would advise the Giants to defend tight end Rob Gronkowski if his sprained left ankle allows him to play in the big game Sunday.
Here goes:
"If I’m defending Gronkowski I’m beating him up. I know he has a hurt ankle. I’m beating him up. I’m taking shots at him at the line of scrimmage. Most people play off of Rob Gronkowski because he’s just a big target. But I’m getting in his chest and pushing him and shoving him and forcing him to push off that ankle and see how healthy that ankle is.
"At halftime that thing, because it’s a long halftime, it can get sore and stiff. So I’m tearing him up at the line of scrimmage, plain and simple. If I’m a strong safety I’m hitting him."
