Giants starting fullback Henry Hynoski suffered a knee injury on the second play of the team period during their OTA practice Wednesday and was carted off the field. The club later said Hynoski will undergo an MRI exam to determine the severity of the injury.

From the sound of their comments, coach Tom Coughlin and quarterback Eli Manning fear the worst but are hoping for the best. Hynoski went down while cutting without contact.

“We said a few prayers, and I’ll continue until I hear what it is,” Coughlin said.

Manning said he didn’t actually see what caused Hynoski to go down.

“I handed the ball off, and then I saw him on the ground,” Manning said. “I don’t know what happened. I don’t know how severe the injury is. Hopefully, it’s not too bad and he can be back at least for training camp. You hope they don’t happen, but that’s football. It wasn’t a hit. But you’re running around and making cuts. Unfortunately, sometimes you have injuries. Hopefully, it’s a minor one.”
