Just one more blog post before I head over to the New Blue stadium. And it’s about Shawn Andrews.

In today’s paper I wrote about what he’ll do for the Giants. But of course he has a past with the Eagles. You know, that team the Giants play twice a year and every couple of years in a playoff game? They’re about 100 miles away. Maybe you’ve heard of them.

Anyway, Andrews said he’s not looking to settle any scores.

“I’m not making this a Shawn vs. the Eagles thing,” he said.

But clearly there is some disagreement between him and his former team about how he was treated, particularly in the final days of his tenure. He called his release “untimely.” He disputed whether he failed a physical. Even while he was waiting for the team and his agent to finalize the contract late on Thursday night, he was fiddling with his iPad and playing a game called “Angry Bird.”

“Isn’t that ironic,” he noted.

But Andrews took the high road when it came to actual statements.

“It was a lot,” he said of what went down in Philly. “I don’t really want to harp on that. The past is the past. The only time I look in the rearview is for the cops, and I don’t speed. I just kind of leave that where it is.

“I don’t have any bad blood towards them,” he added. “It was just an untimely release. They wanted to go in another direction, and I just kept working my tail off. So here I am. I’m a G-man.”

And probably an Angry Former Bird.

By the way: Nov. 21 and Dec. 19 are the dates of this year's Eagles games against the Giants in case Shawn is reading this and wasn't aware.
