Jacobs not impressed by Bears' stats on run defense
The Chicago Bears have allowed only three runs over 10 yards this season. On Monday night they held the Packers to 63 yards on the ground. They have had the NFL’s top rushing defense since Week 1, averaging only 39.7 rushing yards allowed per game.
Does that worry the Giants, who have not been moving the ball as well as they would like to be on the ground this season? Nope.
“Some people get discouraged, they look at the paper and the numbers on the paper and get discouraged,” Brandon Jacobs said. “That’s what turns some coaches away from certain parts of the gameplan.”
Jacobs said he thinks Green Bay has a very good running game, but the Packers are also without Ryan Grant so they’re a little short-handed. Jacobs said you have to look not only at stats but the big picture.
“You also have to look at the situations and how many blocks were missed and how many plays were blown by guys who were just giving it away,” he said. “You have to take all of that into consideration as well.”
