For Jason Pierre-Paul, waiting has been the hardest part.

"It felt like a long week," he said Friday. "When we came in [Monday], we were ready to go. When we left Green Bay, we were ready to go . . . If we could get on the plane right now, we would."

If they win, the next wait will be two weeks long.

"Yeah," Pierre-Paul said. "We're going to be ready for that."

The Giants are excited about playing in tonight's NFC Championship Game against the 49ers, and as they put the final touches on their preparation, they began to focus on what it will be like to play in the big game.

Dave Tollefson said that during practice Friday, in between reps, he pulled Chris Canty aside to share the thrill.

"I was like, 'Hey, man, we're on the cusp,' " Tollefson said. "It's all going down on Sunday. You have to pace yourself at this point so you don't get too excited. Clean up all the stuff you might have missed at practice the last few days and then it's go time."

Eli Manning said he's excited, too, but his demeanor is very different from Pierre-Paul's.

"I think everybody has kept their cool," Manning said. "I don't think guys are nervous or getting too excited. I know everybody is ready to go. Everybody is amped up, but I think everybody has done a good job keeping their cool knowing that we have to get prepared, we have to get our rest this week and make sure we're ready. We do have a long plane ride. I think guys are ready to go play."

One thing Manning and Pierre-Paul have in common, though, is that a win over the 49ers would cost both a trip to Hawaii. They're scheduled to play in the Pro Bowl next Sunday -- unless they are preparing for a certain game the following week in Indianapolis.

"I'm not thinking about Hawaii," Pierre-Paul said. "I'm just thinking about the Super Bowl right now. After we take care of this team."
