Report of Shockey looking for return to Giants sparks Twitter fight

When that ancient soothsayer warned to “Beware the Ides of March,” perhaps this is what was really meant: Jeremy Shockey wants to return to the Giants.
The Daily News is reporting that the former Giants tight end who once argued, pouted and fought his way out of New York would like to come back to the team that drafted him. He is a free agent and apparently willing to play for a veteran’s minimum, and the Giants are trying to bolster their tight end position. So will they do it?
Not if Amani Toomer has anything to say about it. Upon hearing the news on Twitter, the former wide receiver posted this juicy nugget:

Toomer is not alone in his assessment of Shockey, from what I hear, and a reunion is highly unlikely. There are more warm sentiments among the Giants for Plaxico Burress than for Jeremy Shockey. There may even be warmer feelings towards Tiki Barber, if you can believe that. So unless the Giants are down to deciding between me and Shockey to play tight end for them, they’ll probably stay away. Even in that case, they may think about it.
Then again, as Reese always says, you never say never in NFL personnel.

Jeremy Shockey responded to the reports – and the Tweet by Toomer – on his own Twitter page.
“It's funny how the Ny media still try's to make money off me! Can anyone find a quote from me on me wanting to play for the GAINTS?” Shockey wrote.
Of course, Toomer has the quote above, saying he heard Shockey yell at Reese that he would never play for him again.
"Amani Toomer on Jeremy Shockey: Bad teammate, Haha. Well he was the lazy one that broke my leg!!" Shockey posted. Then later, in response to a question about if he saw what Toomer wrote: "remember when his ex divorced him and he urinated on a her cloths I guess he's the good person"
UPDATE: Well, Toomer has now responded to Shockey's response with another zinger: "Shockey,Thanks 4 proving my statement about being a bad person. Lieing about my EX.Lowblow.Enough said. Have a nice day& good luck as a FA."
