Jimmy Kennedy suspended four games

Giants defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy has been suspended by the NFL for the team's next four games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances. His suspension without pay begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the team on Nov. 14 following the game against the 49ers on Nov. 13.
Kennedy, a nine-year NFL veteran, signed a one-year deal with the Giants in training camp for the veteran's minimum of $810,000. He was a former first-round pick of the Rams and played for the Bears, Jaguars and Vikings before landing in New York. He played parts of the last three seasons in Minnesota.
As part of the Giants' defensive line rotation he had four tackles in five games.
While he's suspended, Kennedy won't count against the Giants' 53-man roster. The team did not announce a move Tuesday night, but they have options. Dwayne Hendricks is a defensive tackle on their practice squad and they reportedly had former Bengals defensive lineman Jason Shirley in for a workout Tuesday. They also could reach out to veteran Gabe Watson, the former Cardinal who was in training camp with the team.
