Mathias Kiwanuka said he will travel to California early this week to meet with noted neck specialist Robert Watkins and could know more about the condition of his bulging disc by Wednesday.

Watkins helped treat Antonio Pierce and performed surgery on the Giants' Michael Johnson and (then of the Eagles) Shawn Andrews.

Kiwanuka has had a second MRI, he said, and will have the entire team of his doctors - now including Watkins - go over those images.

"All of the doctors are going to get together and see what they think about the next study," Kiwanuka told Newsday after the game. "It was earlier in the process than they normally like to do a second study, but I was anxious and pushing them to do it. We'll see what they think."

Kiwanuka said he's having no pain. He is optimistic about a swift return and did some running and agility drills on the sideline at practice this past week. He first had a CT scan performed Oct. 1 and has missed the last three games, all wins.
