Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor joined his former teammates Saturday night for a private celebration commemorating the 25-year reunion of the Giants' 1986 Super Bowl championship team. But elected not to attend a breakfast Sunday at which most players and coaches, as well as several hundred fans, attended.
The controversial linebacker, who was sentenced in March to six years probation for an encounter in May 2010 with an underage prostitute in Montebello, N.Y., appeared in good spirits, according to his former teammates. "Lawrence had a lot of laughs. It was fun to see him," former quarterback Phil Simms said. "I think everybody was happy to see him. I'd hate to speak for him, but I think it was a great thing for him to be around everybody and everybody to see him."
Former coach Bill Parcells said he has been in contact with Taylor. "He is doing pretty good," Parcells said.
