O'Hara is back, Ross is not on the field

Back from practice, which is really just an hour long anyway, so we saw about half of it. A few glimmers of optimism in terms of injuries: Shaun O’Hara (Achilles tendonitis/ankle), Chase Blackburn (sprained MCL) and Travis Beckum (neck) were on the field and seemed to be participating fully. A few concerns in the secondary as Corey Webster was on the sideline with what we assume is a lingering groin injury that kept him out on Thursday. And Aaron Ross was no where to be seen despite some thoughts earlier in the weekend tat he would be able to practice with his torn plantar fascia.
Also sidelined were Phillip Dillard (hamstring) and Gerris Wilkinson (groin).
That means, of course, that the entire Giants offense was working today. Even Darius Reynaud was doing some drills with the receivers, although he's listed as a running back (he can play both).
I promised some fireworks on the practice squad. The Giants added Charles Scott, a rookie running back from LSU.
And Duke Calhoun and Seth Williams both got haircuts this weekend, chopping off their dreadlocks.
I can’t tell you about player deployment. I can tell you about jersey numbers, though. Sage Rosenfels was wearing No. 8 today but by Sunday he’ll be officially No. 18 for the Giants. (Until Feagles comes out of retirement?) Victor Cruz was still wearing No. 3, but he’ll be switched to 80 by Sunday, a number vacated by Derek Hagan. And Dillard, I was surprised to learn, will remain at 49. I thought linebackers needed to be either in the 50s or 90s, but I guess they will get an exception. 93, 98 are the only open numbers.
