Fewell isn't worried about weather

While many players and coaches have been keeping an eye on the weather reports in San Francisco, Giants' defensive coordinator Perry Fewell has a very simple philosophy for dealing with any elements:
"It doesn't matter," he said Thursday, using that phrase as his own verbal umbrella against all questions regarding the elements. "Not this game. It doesn't matter."
Why not?
"Because it's the championship game and it doesn't matter," he said. "You fight all year to get here. It can snow, it can hail, it can rain, it can do whatever it wants to do . . . We're going to be ready to play."
He said he's not even curious when it comes to how the weather could affect the 49ers' play-calling. Said Fewell, "It doesn't matter."
Osi countdown
One game or two. That seems to be the amount of time Osi Umenyiora has left in a Giants uniform. The Giants will lose Sunday and complete their season, or they'll advance to the Super Bowl. In either case, it's unlikely Umenyiora will be back in 2012. It's something he recognizes but continues to dance around.
"I can't really discuss that right now," he said. "Right now I'm just focused on playing football . . . The business part of it I will take care of later."
Giant steps
RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) was the only Giant who did not practice but he is expected to practice Friday . . . Former WR and Super Bowl hero David Tyree will "flip the switch" and illuminate the Empire State Building blue Friday night in honor of the Giants . . . Mark Bavaro, Michael Strahan and Rich Seubert will serve as Giants honorary captains for Sunday's game.
