Radio Rolle: Antrel says Jerry Jones talks too much, plays too little

The Giants didn’t have much to say yesterday about Jerry Jones’ invitation to Cowboys fans to come to the Oct. 28 game in Dallas to watch his team kick the Giants’ butts. But that was yesterday. Today, safety Antrel Rolle was on ESPN Radio 98.7 FM and was asked about those comments.

“The last time I remember, I don’t remember Jerry Jones ever putting on any pads, playing neither offense nor defense,” he said. “He has no say so in what’s going to take place in that game. He’s been speaking for those guys for numerous years now, that they’re going to win the Super Bowl each and every year. They haven’t been there yet. Right now they have to take the crown off our heads, that’s how we look at it.”

Rolle also spoke about the lack of respect that the Giants are getting.

“I think a lot of people overlooked us,” Rolle said. “I think a lot of people think it was a fluke run on our behalf, people think that we weren’t deserving of a Super Bowl. I mean, we went through and we beat the best of the best teams in the NFL. Hands down, we beat them fair and square. People want to call it luck, they can call it whatever they want, but we call ourselves Super Bowl XLVI Champions.”

As for the oddsmaker, some of whom have the Giants finishing third in the NFC East behind the Eagles and the Cowboys?

“The way I look at it, the game still has to be played,” Rolle said. “They can have whatever kind of speculation or expectations they want for the Giants. I’m pretty sure no one ever thought we would even get there (to the Super Bowl) but for the people standing here and ourselves. But we made a run for it, we made a liar out of everyone, and we’ll continue to do the same.”
