Rivers, Robinson sit out in homecoming, but many questionable Giants will play

Keith Rivers spent the first four years of his career with the Bengals, during which he played in 35 games and missed 29. So his being inactive today for his return to Cincinnati may be somewhat appropriate. Rivers will miss a second straight game with a calf injury and his fifth so far this season, his first with the Giants.
Byt the way, the gift shop here at Paul Bron Stadium had a display selling Bengals jerseys with "RIVERS 55" on them. So someone in Cincinnati remembers him fondly (though apparently not fondly enough to actually buy the jerseys).
Another player with Cincinnati roots, rookie TE Adrien Robinson, is also inactive. Robinson played at the University of Cincinnati. In a perfect world, they’d be gameday captains today. Instead, neither will wear a uniform.
The news this morning, though, isn’t so much who isn’t playing but who is. The Giants had a lot of questionable players coming into the game, a few of which didn’t seem like they’d be playing this week. But most of them are. That includes starters Chris Canty and Chase Blackburn on defense, starters Chris Snee, Hakeem Nicks and Ahmad Bradshaw on offense, and Will Hill, who was added to the active roster on Saturday. Bear Pascoe, who missed last week’s game, is playing.
The Giants have no changes to their depth chart due to the inactives.
Besides Rivers and Robinson, and Kenny Phillips and Jacquian Williams who had already been ruled out, the rest of the inactives for the Giants are Jerrel Jernigan, Adewale Ojomo, Marvin Austin.
For the Bengals, the inactives are: Reggie Nelson, Jason Allen, Devon Still, Brandon Thompson, Marvin Jones, Armon Binns and Richard Quinn.
