The Giants’ defensive line depth took another hit with defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris suffering a season-ending Achilles injury, a league source confirmed to Newsday.
Robertson-Harris was injured Thursday during OTAs and limped off the field. He started every game last season after signing a two-year, $9 million contract.
It’s the second Achilles injury this month for the Giants after cornerback Thaddeus Dixon, an undrafted free agent, was hurt during workouts.
The Giants now don’t have their two starting defensive tackles from last season after trading Dexter Lawrence last month to the Bengals. It became a priority position this offseason with the team signing five defensive tackles in free agency and drafting Bobby Jamison-Travis in the sixth round.
The Giants also return second-year tackle Darius Alexander, who’ll likely take on a bigger role after appearing in 16 games last season.
