Steve Smith happy he took the money and ran

The Giants are 6-3 and atop of the NFC East. The Eagles are 3-6 and all but out of the playoffs.

Still, Steve Smith says he has no regrets about his decision to leave the Giants for Philadelphia this past summer.

“It’s a business,” he said. “I would rather have more money in my pocket and be able to play football.

Smith, who played four seasons with the Giants and caught five passes for 50 yards in their 2009 Super Bowl win, said he has plenty of friends and good memories from his time in New Jersey. Still, he is unsure what kind of reception he will get there when the Eagles play at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

“New York fans are pretty brutal,” he said.
