It wasn’t anything profound or anything the Giants hadn’t heard before. But Michael Strahan’s words nevertheless were heartfelt and direct.

In the wake of yet another embarrassing loss, the former defensive end visited his former team and shared a few things with members of the Giants’ defensive line.

It was never Strahan’s intention to deliver an impassioned speech, as he did in 2009 when the Giants were struggling at 5-4 heading into Week 10 and last year when they opened the season 1-2.

Instead, yesterday's impromptu sit-down was the result of a chance encounter with Dave Tollefson in the hallway.

“It wasn’t anything groundbreaking,” said Tollefson. “He’s just so passionate about the defensive line and pass rushing and it was just stuff along that line.

"He wasn’t upset with us or anything like that. It was a matter of, he just had some extra time. I was actually walking out of the D-line room to go to the bathroom and I seen him and I said, ‘Come on, Come on. Come in here and say what’s up, man.’”

Though unexpected, Jason Pierre-Paul said Strahan’s message was good to hear.

“He came in there and told us that we need to get correct and we need to stay strong as a defensive line,” said the second-year defensive end.

Perhaps his Strahan's speech will help spark the Giants, who face the unbeaten Packers and Aaron Rodgers -- who enters the game with a 127.7 QB rating -- at home Sunday. Strahan was in town on business and stopped by the facility on his way to the airport, according to the team.
