Texas deep in the heart of Giants' Weston Richburg
Just how big is Texas? Consider that Giants rookie guard Weston Richburg grew up in Amarillo, about six hours north of Dallas, and he still considers Sunday's game to be a homecoming.
That would be like a player from Virginia or Western Pennsylvania or Vermont calling a game at MetLife a homecoming.
Despite the long drive, Richburg said he is expecting a large contingent at AT&T Stadium.
"This one's been on my calendar for a long time," he said. "I'm excited to come play in a stadium that I've been aware of and seen games in as a kid. It's a dream come true to play against a team that you watched as a kid. I'll have a little more family there, so there may be 50 people that will be rooting for me and not against me."
Richburg said the best part about it that is he won't have to shell out money for tickets.
"Most of them bought them shortly after I was drafted," he said. "They've had this on their calendars for a long time."
Richburg admitted that some of his family members are long-time Cowboys fans. Although that has changed in the last few months since he was drafted.
"I think there are definitely going to be some more Giants fans this week that have recently converted," he said.
