Tyler Sash had a very productive weekend. He was credited with a safety on defense and recovered a fumble off a muffed punt on special teams. But the best praise he received after Saturday’s game against the Steelers came from one of his opponents.

“I told (Steelers lineman Brett) Keisel that my beard looked up to his beard,” said Sash, who showed up at training camp sporting a Duck Dynasty look on his face. “And then I tweeted him that yesterday and he said I had a fine beard myself … I was pretty happy about that.”

High praise from the high priest of facial hair in the NFL.

“Everybody has their people that they look up to,” Sash said. “For my beard it’s just him I guess.”

Sash did wind up trimming his beard a bit.

“It was getting over my lips and every time I was eating it felt like I had hair in my food,” he said.
